New Screenshots!

By Nick  //  News, Pictures  //  No Comments

The movie obviously didn’t make the deadline due to some unforgiving circumstances (that’s what you get for working as a student without a budget) but hey! We are still working on it. Here are some nice screencaps! Two actually, it’s an intense movie so we can’t give away too much :)

Project IRIS Still on Track!

By Nick  //  News  //  No Comments

Hey guys,

I’m back with a somewhat quick update! I know there has been a lot of silence around Project IRIS for some time now and we have a perfectly good reason.

As some of you may know, we were mostly using borrowed equipment and our main resource was the school. Unfortunately an incident involving another student at our school, forced our Video teacher to hold all the equipment. This halted our ability to shoot anything for quite some time. We had to give back all of our equipment we were using. However, I recently got a new HD camcorder myself which will be used to shoot the movie on. It might look really consumer-y but it’s a real workhorse when it comes to HD shooting.

The time off we had when the equipment was taken away, made me rethink the script. Since I will be moving abroad in August, this gives us even less time to finish this movie. That’s why we are releasing the movie in a different yet more exciting way. That’s still IRIS Studios’ secret so hold on to your potatoes for that one! The length of the short has been pulled back to 5-10 minutes and will be released in October. The filming will be done in July and post-production will start in September. We are planning an online release only. Theatrical is all up to Alessandro since I won’t be in the US by then.

Currently I’m working on some visual assets that will be used at the time of shooting. The final script is close to being done and the camera stabilizer needs some fine tuning. We got some work ahead of us, but this movie will be shot!

Our “Bullet Proof” Vest

By Nick  //  News, Pictures  //  No Comments

I just got my “Bullet Proof” Vest in the mail. It’s main purpose is to at least look useful… We don’t wanna show up with an inflatable vest, instead we want to project Bad-Ass on the screen when you see the movie. Hence this vest. It also serves as a harness for the “flying” scenes. You will see more about that very soon! Here are some pictures of the vest :-D

Publicity

By Alessandro  //  News  //  1 Comment

The film has just started to enter into production and already our efforts are receiving a tremendous amount of publicity from interested friends and strangers.

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you. Every time you send someone a link to our trailer, you help us share our creation with one more person. That’s what why we do this. Not for money (there is none). We just want to make something that everyone can enjoy.

So, thanks again, and if it pleases you take the time to share our website with a friend.

You people are the best,

-Sandro

  • College is right around the corner for both Nick and I. Time to start balancing a bunch of things and still finish this film!
  • So, we have this pretty sweet 3d title sequence for our movie. Time to render on Mac is 100 hours... PC 50... WTF? Damnit, ..
  • That said, we do want to get this movie turned around ASAP! Stay tuned, it should hit sooner than you'd think...
  • The greatest thing about not having producers is the level of freedom we have to do whatever we want, whenever. No rush :)
